Oh Really Gallery recently hosted the opening of the 2nd Australian Stencil Art Prize (ASAP) with the crowd spilling onto Enmore Road. The Australian Stencil Art Prize recognises and rewards Australian stencil artists and this year the exhibition features 20 finalists.  The winning artwork was ‘Saul Williams’ by E.L.K  and the detail in it is amazing. There is something that will appeal to everyone with artworks in many different stencil styles, methods and mediums and with a cash prize of $2000 for the winnner, the standard is high.

The exhibition is being held at Oh Really Gallery from 11 – 21 November 201. The gallery is open Thursdays to Sundays from 12noon – 6pm and all artworks are for sale.

My favourite of the exhibition was ‘Art Defines Us’ by 16 year old high school student James Ottaway from Tasmania. Can’t wait to see what this young talent will produce next. I was spewing that his artwork had already sold by the time I arrived at the gallery. Note to self: Get to the gallery earlier next year!
